Asomvel
A Dream to Some...A Nightmare to Others!
ASOMVEL are a four-piece hard rock band from the U.K., notorious for excessive volume, and high-octane stage shows. The band released their latest album, ‘Born to Rock ‘n’ Roll’ on March 29th 2024, following a year of tremendous growth with their music reaching new fans around the world, due to their incredible social media presence. They are currently touring the new album with numerous sold out shows, and high profile international festival appearances such as Barcelona Rock Fest, and Bloodstock Open Air.
The band has recently completed a two-month sold out tour as main support to Airbourne, and are now working on their next album, before their next U.K. headline tour in August/ September.
No strangers to adversity, the band was shaken to its core when front-man, Jay-Jay Winter, was killed in a road accident, barely a year after ASOMVEL released their debut LP. Although a devastating tragedy, co-founding guitarist, Lenny, knew that the band had to continue in tribute to the determined spirit of their founder.
Since recruiting Jay-Jay’s nephews, Ralph, on vocals, and Stel on guitar, the band has performed around the world; including a tour of South America, Japan, and all around Europe. These dates included many well-respected festivals and lengthy tours with well-established artists.
“Late nights, loud amps, red eyes, sore ears, and a sea of empty bottles in the morning.”
(METAL HAMMER)
“…Pulls off the neat trick of being both utterly authentic and thrillingly relevant. The best of heavy metal has plenty of dirt under its fingernails: this lot must never be allowed to work in a food preparation area.”
(DOM LAWSON – THE GUARDIAN)
“Album of the week.”
(PHIL ALEXANDER – EDITOR IN CHIEF, MOJO MAGAZINE)
“Devastating and inspirational... could have inspired Voivod and Sodom to the kind of heights ‘Filth Hounds of Hades’ and “Iron Fist’ itself did back in 1982.”
(IRON FIST MAGAZINE)
“…Maverick charisma, heads-down determination and sheer balls.”
(TERRORIZER)
“This is filthy primal savagery for pure hell raisers only; all pretenders will have their balls blown off when listening to this album. This is great high-octane gritty metal rock ‘n’ roll, turn it up to eleven, open a can of Special Brew, light a smoke and enjoy.”
(BRUTALISM)
“ASOMVEL’s opus lives up to its name and provides and veritable kick up the arse of U.K. metal, making us realise what this country has long been about and yet for so long neglected.”
(METAL FORCES)
“…the new album from U.K. band ASOMVEL is an uncompromising and thrilling storm of prime beef U.K. metal…one of the true joys of U.K.’s metal underground.”
(RINGMASTER REVIEW)
“Heads-down, headbanging and bruising, non-pretentious, no-bullshit tunage.”
(METAL SHOCK)
“A band louder than Motörhead you say? Step right this way…”
(KERRANG!)
“Makes you wanna reach for your cut-off denim and head down the pub to tell your mates the new band you’ve discovered…ASOMVEL are definitely one of the best metal bands to emerge from the U.K. in a long while.”
